It's not often you find a derelict of this size still out in the desert. But there it was. Its rigging still running to the top of its boom and the boom itself housing a hawks nest.
I'm puzzled by its location. Draglines like this one were often used in tandem with dredgers. But to my knowledge there wasn't a dredger set up in the Osgood Mountain area. I'm puzzled! That's an exotic piece of equipment for a rancher to use to dig out a watering hole for his critters!

Loading ramp Jungo Flat
I've been down Jungo Road hundreds of times over the years. Starting when my family lived out in Sulphur. (When there was still a town of Sulphur!) Somehow this perfect frame for that little mountain escaped my notice. Finally, (About time!) it hit me. What an amazing picture!!

Sunset February First
I tried to watch the game. I really did! Then this happened and I had to go. The dogs stayed behind. They didn't want leave the comfort of their warm beds next to the furnace vents! Their crazy human grabbed a camera, watched this light and got a few photos of it. So beautiful!

Contrails or Chemtrails to the South of Winnemucca
Going to a Museum board meeting one night I saw this! I've never seen one like it before. Obviously it wasn't just the usual jet contrail. It's something else. I had to go inside so I don't know how long it lasted.

One of Grandma's photos
This is an amazing picture! It was taken by my grandmother about 1900. Old then, I suspect it's a ruin now. At the time it was by itself in a field surrounded by sagebrush and with a few willows in the background. If you're familiar with the desert you can almost color it in!

Cold Weather Sky
Even in cold weather color like this will tempt me outside! Usually without a coat. The sunsets come and go so quickly that I simply don't have time. It's worth it to get something that is this beautiful. The Master Painter does not repeat a painting. Each one is different and gorgeous.
